Holiday Fundraiser

Please consider donating to our end-of-year holiday fundraiser and help us bring hope, joy, and love to the lives of the many neglected and abandoned cats and dogs in need of a soft place to land. We can mend their broken spirits with compassion and love, but we need your help to keep them warm, and fed, and provide the veterinary care they need.

We can’t do this without you!

FRONTIER ANIMAL SOCIETY

Société animale frontalière/Frontier Animal Society (SAFAS) is a non-profit animal rescue located in the eastern townships of Quebec. Founded in 1986 by Joyce Dekker, our shelter provides a safe and caring environment for our adoptable dogs and cats while they await their forever homes.  At any one time, the shelter is home to approximately eight dogs and 20-25 cats, and all animals remain in our care until they are adopted. SAFAS is run by a Board of Directors, and we rely on the support of volunteers to assist us in our day-to-day operations. As a registered charity, we depend entirely on donations.

For updates on our adopted animals, please visit our Facebook page.

BE THE DIFFERENCE

IN THE LIFE OF A HOMELESS ANIMAL

We’re always looking for dedicated and reliable volunteers to join our team. Whether you’re passionate about working directly with animals or can help with general repairs, transport, fundraising, or event planning, you can play a vital role in supporting our mission.

Be a Volunteer

Fostering young kittens and shy cats offers a safe, loving environment where they can thrive. A quiet home reduces stress and minimizes health risks that kittens face in a shelter. Fostering is a rewarding experience that saves lives and enables us to help more cats in need.

Be a Foster

As a monthly donor, you offer our shelter consistent and reliable support to rescue and care for cats and dogs in need. Your generosity ensures we can provide essential services and continue improving the lives of stray, neglected, and abandoned cats and dogs.
