Frontier Animal Society Urgently Needs Foster Homes for Kittens and Nursing Cats
Each spring and summer, animal shelters and rescues across the country experience kitten season—a time when litters of kittens and nursing mother cats arrive in overwhelming numbers. At Frontier Animal Society, we are reaching a critical point in the season and need your help: We urgently need foster homes to care for these vulnerable animals.
Just recently, we received a call about several litters of kittens found at a local barn—all in need of safe, warm temporary homes. With limited space at the shelter, we rely on our foster network to step in and make these rescues possible.
We are currently seeking caring individuals or families to foster:
Orphaned kittens
Nursing mother cats and their litters
Whether you’re experienced or new to fostering, you won’t be on your own. Frontier Animal Society provides everything you need, including:
All veterinary care (check-ups, medications, and any needed treatments)
Food for the cats and kittens
Essential supplies like litter boxes and transport cages
Ongoing support and guidance from our dedicated volunteers
Who Can Foster?
Ideally, we are looking for foster homes within approximately 30 km of our shelter near Stanstead, Quebec.
If you have resident cats, foster kittens or mother cats must be kept in a separate room for health and safety reasons. This also helps reduce stress for all animals involved.
Why Fostering Matters
Our shelter has limited space, and kitten season pushes us to capacity. By fostering, you’re not only helping the kittens in your care—you’re also opening space for more animals to be rescued. It’s a short-term commitment that truly saves lives.
Fostering is one of the most meaningful ways to help. Homeless kittens rely on people like you to give them a strong start on the path to adoption and a loving forever home.
